After thinking about it long and hard for about 10 seconds I decided to say F...K Off! I'm going to publish this report anyway!
Why?
Because I'm TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH the lies and BS that are now accepted in the field of online marketing and advertising.
SOMETHING STINKS AT THE TOP and no one seems to be talking about it.
So here it is:
THE TERRIBLE TRUTH!
As a small business owner,
YOU ARE NOT GETTING A RETURN ON YOUR ADVERTISING DOLLARS SPENT TO GET LEADS.
You might as well be flushing your dollars down the toilet!
The profit is going to the huge mega corps like google, bing, fb, etc for ppc, or to the companies that do your ads.
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
Simple answer: Because they can. They are that powerful.
But...don't take my word for it.
Here is a recent post by Blogads.com, who just shut down after 20 years of successful business.
This was a pioneer in using blogs as the new grassroots way to reach people/clients, and put your message out. They were a huge success for many years.
Here are the reasons they listed as to why they were shutting down.

The money isn't there. Content/impressions has outstripped the advertising needs.

Transparency-misleading blogs/messages and intent confuse the reader.

Over whelming internet Noise: Between AI bots and stupid cat videos or worse, the amount of information/misinformation shifted the focus from good, accurate content to who can put the most outlandish lie, or shocking meme or vid. On tiktok. Ex. Bouncing boobs girls: 66 mil likes.
Allow me to share a bit about myself and my experience.I’m a serial entrepreneur and have created, owned, and run many businesses in my lifetime. It was 2002 and I had just opened my Real Estate Brokerage office.
We knew that online real estate was going to take over so we created a website and worked to put up good content. We also worked to make sure that it was optimized for search engine optimization.Now it's called SEM.
We were the first in our market niche to crack the ppc code, as well as owning an authority website that drew organic traffic. Back then PPC was in it’s infancy and the players hadn’t been scarfed up or put out of business by google or bing.
It took us 6 months of constant research, taking courses, talking to marketing gurus and trial and error. We started the brokerage office in 2002 and set a drop dead date of September 1 or we were going to take a different approach.
We were 2 weeks from our deadline when we finally broke the ppc code. From 2002-2007 we had so many leads we couldn’t get to them all. And because of the boom, we couldn’t find agents to hire, so we had to cherry pick the leads to follow up on. Needless to say we made a bit of money.
When the economy busted in 2008 Real estate went dead for about 2 years. I was about a year from being able to live the lifestyle that I had planned out, but I took a year off thinking that this recession would only last a year or so. When I came back the next year things were actually getting worse, so I decided to switch over to coaching and mentoring small businesses on how to do business online. One example of how different it was in 2008:
Youtube. When youtube was bought out by google, they changed their algorithm to favor videos. We capitalized on that era. It took putting up about 15 videos that were key word optimized and the leads started rolling in. I could literally put up a video with the right key words and on page one within a few minutes to 24 hours.
Sadly, as said before, google and the other 800 lb gorillas shut this down.
But again these are symptoms of the bigger problem which is: The mega corps that control access and algorithms. In 2012 I had sounded the alarm that something didn’t smell right in the land of the giants.
They were feeding us all BS and yet no one seemed to be saying anything.
By that I mean Google, Bing, FB, Instagram, take your pick.
While they all said their algorithms were focused on delivering accurate results for a search, just the opposite seemed to be happening.
To be totally blunt,they spoke out of both sides of their mouths, saying on one hand that in order to rank for SEO, or get a good ppc score you had to have good content, etc. yet there appeared to be a split between the huge megacorps websites that had the ability to spend hundreds of thousands per month on advertising with the giants vs. the rest of us that were still thinking we were playing on the same playing field with the same rules.
In short, in my opinion, here is what happened. Google, bing,etc, split up the companies buying their advertising into the haves and have nots.
THE HAVES: These are the mega corporations that spend 100s of thousands of dollars to millions of dollars per month for online advertising. There is a threshold that I'm not privy to, but I'm guessing it's probably over $100K per month. Once you hit this threshold, The G, FB, Instagram, Bing...they all place you in the quality lead bin. And in my opinion, it carries over the the organic searches as well. If you spend the threshold or above, you will rank on page one for all of your keyword searches; quality content or not.
THE HAVE NOTS: That's the rest of us. The ones spending $500 , $1000 per month. We may get an occasional conversion, but our percentages were much lower, thus our return was low or non existent. We are in the crap traffic bin.
How did they do it?
The combination of AI, analytics, and a team of the worlds top geeks working to skew the searches and results to their advantage and profit.
AND... The companies that claim to be experts at SEM, Social media, and ppc campaigns know this.
But…do they tell you this upfront?
Why would they!
They are making their money whether you get a return on your advertising dollar or not.
So here you sit as a small business owner, working your ass off, to get little or no return on your advertising dollars.
And…if you are getting a return, be thankful but know that the 800lb gorillas at the top have a team of geeks working to make sure they can take most of that profit until you reach the threshold of advertising dollars that they require for you to be placed in the quality leads bin.
